Rainforest storytime and animal presentation is happening on Feb. 20 at Sands Point Preserve. Children can take a mini-staycation just as February break draws to a close and join storyteller, naturalist and children’s author Eric Young as he reads his book, The Rainbow Almond Tree.
At this event, visitors to the preserve can discover the perils and joys of the rainforest—a wondrous natural place—and meet some live animals that dwell there, including a tree frog, a walking stick and a python.
Sign up for one of two sessions: 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. Dress in layers and, weather-permitting, spend the day and enjoy a winter hike on the many wooded trails and mile-long beach.
Admission is $15 per car or $5 with a membership pass. Preregistration is required. Email your name, preferred session start time, and the number of adults and children (with their ages) to info@friendsspp.org.
