I am grateful to Paul Pereira and the entire board for approving the new modern buildings in our downtown area.
Recently, my wife and I who are now empty nesters had to relocate temporarily as we sold our house that we could no longer adequately maintain due to major back surgeries for both of us. We loved our quiet block and neighbors but it was time to move on.We are now looking forward to moving back when the new building at 250 Old Country Road is completed. We need to be close to our medical doctors.
I have done some research and some of these new apartments will have a second bathroom with a walk in shower where we could place a chair. In addition, each apartment will have its own washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave making home maintenance easier on us.
We also have a car that has been altered for handicapped driving.
Finally, these buildings have their own pool and gym. I am looking forward for my grandchildren to be able to utilize these facilities.
We checked a lot of buildings in Mineola and most were missing some key feature that we needed for medical purposes.
We definitely are looking forward to moving into this new building.
Vote for Paul Pereira for trustee on Election Day, March 15, 2016. He is a man of vision and we need his talent in Mineola.
