Joan A. Meehan

Joan A. Meehan passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 6 at the age of 86.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, and a longtime resident of Mineola, Meehan was a resident of Fairless Hills since July of 2008.

She was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish and a former member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Fallsington. She was also currently active with the Saint Francis Xavier and Saint Therese of Lisieux Society.
Meehan worked at the Emergency Desk at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola for 28 years. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and was active with the community outreach program at Corpus Christi Church in Mineola. ObitMeehanShe was devoted to her faith and in earlier years had taught in the CCD program in Brooklyn.

Meehan was first and foremost a homemaker and caregiver proudly raising her seven children.

Beloved wife of the late James F. and loving mother of the late Raymond F. Meehan, Meehan is survived by her devoted children, James J. Meehan (Patricia), Barbara J. Steck, (Edwin), Teresa M. Meehan, Janet F. Drohan (James), John C. Meehan (Kristen), Julia A. Newman (Robert) and Catherine E. Murphy (Robert).

She was the devoted grandmother of 14; proud great grandmother of one; and caring sister of Lorraine Pronek (Neal).

She will also be sadly missed by her six nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was be celebrated on Friday, March 11 at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, Fairless Hills. Interment was held in Long Island National Cemetery.
