June Burden’s piece: All Things Beautiful and Fleeting

June Burden and Jose Seligson announced an exhibit of recent work at the Graphic Eye Gallery on lower Main Street. The public is encouraged to attend a reception for the artists on Sunday, April 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. The show is called Flow.

Port resident Jose Seligson’s body of work consists of his experimentation with acrylic paints and acrylic ink on polypropylene. His multicolored abstract compositions are evocative of organic forms of nature.

June Burden’s installation includes wall hangings, artist’s books and sculptures incorporating handmade paper and objects found on the beach. These pieces were inspired by Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s classic book Gift From the Sea.

Both artists are longtime members of the Graphic Eye. The gallery, established in 1974, is one of the oldest artist-run co-ops in the region. It is located at 402 Main St., diagonally across from Louie’s Restaurant. Hours are Friday to Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Flow will remain on view from April 1 through May 29. Stop in to see the show.
