The Marty Lyons Foundation, with Leonard N. Katz, president of the Rotary Club of Great Neck
In 1982, Marty Lyons, NY Jets defensive lineman for 12 years, experienced three life-altering events in one week. From these events, The Marty Lyons Foundation, www.martylyonsfoundation.org, was born.
Jeanne Ellis, one of the foundation’s three employees here in New York, explained at the March 16 Rotary Club of Great Neck meeting that during the past 34 years, the foundation has helped grant 7,100 wishes to terminally ill children, bringing many special moments of joy and happiness to these children and their families. Members of the Rotary Club were presented with written letters testifying to this, and were encouraged to support the foundation’s fine work in any way possible.
Ellis is one of the many fascinating speakers who shares interesting information each week at the Rotary Club of Great Neck’s meetings. The Rotary Club invites town residents and businesspeople to visit its breakfast meetings to network and to participate in keeping Great Neck great and a wonderful place to live and work.
