According to Deputy Chief Robert Del Muro, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Port Washington Blvd. on Saturday, April 9, at 8:35 p.m. The accident occurred when a pedestrian, who was intoxicated, crossed the street, but not in the crosswalk, near Uncle Giuseppe’s. The vehicle was traveling northbound in the right lane and the driver was not charged. The car was impounded for a brake inspection, but that was not believed to be a factor, said Deputy Chief Del Muro. The victim is still hospitalized after undergoing several surgeries.
