The thespians sang Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics like professionals. The players were outstanding in their renditions of their characters. The main characters were: Justin Caccavo as Tony, Annalise Stehl as Maria, Gina Marie DeAngelis as Anita, Tommy LaRosa as Bernardo, Owen Brady as Riff, Daniel Popovich as Officer Krupke and Glad Hand, Gabriella Mezzich as Graziella and Marisa Vassalle as Rosa. All the Jets and the Sharks put on a stellar performance.
Principal Robert Windorf said, “We are very proud of our students who have worked diligently over the past few months to prepare for this wonderful production. West Side Story is the quintessential American musical and it offers our students a terrific opportunity to expand their talents. You never know—a St. Peter’s student might become a Tony Award winner some day.”
