Clergy Discuss End Of Life Issues

Clergy_050316AThe unique role of clergy in counseling and comforting families of dying patients is the focus of a panel discussion to be led by Rabbi Michael White. The group of three clergy of different religious faiths will share perspectives on how they minister to people at the end of life. It will take place on Thursday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Sinai of Roslyn.

The trio includes Rabbi White, Reverend John Overvold, corporate director of Chaplaincy Services at Northwell Health and Chaplain Seemi Ahmed, from the Islamic Center of Long Island, who also works at Northwell Health.

The chaplains will discuss how they help guide families through this difficult time in the lives of their loved ones.

A question and answer period will follow the panel discussion. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served. The suggested non-congregant contribution is $5.

Temple Sinai of Roslyn is located at 425 Roslyn Rd. For more information about the above program, contact Ethel Liebeskind at 516-621-6800 or visit our website at www.mysinai.org.
