Taxpayers expecting a state and/or federal income tax refund can track the status of their refund online by visiting my website www.martins.ny senate.gov.
Both the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have online tracking systems that allow residents whose income tax returns indicated they will be receiving a refund to find out when they can expect it to arrive. Both systems are updated daily to reflect new information as tax returns are processed. There is no fee to utilize these services.
Residents should have a copy of their income tax returns on hand when using the tracking service, as they will need to provide their social security number, the exact amount of their anticipated refund and their tax filing status.
