Westbury’s Shane Irwin, a senior at SUNY Oneonta, recently presented a project at the college’s annual Student Research and Creative Activity Day.

Irwin developed an original project titled “Robustness of Environmental Kuznets Curve Models which Include a Measure of Income Inequality,” under the guidance of Phillip Sirianni of the economics, finance and accounting department. It was one of 134 poster presentations displayed at the college’s Hunt Union during the daylong showcase.

Created to recognize and promote undergraduate scholarship and creative activity, Student Research & Creative Activity Day has become the premier on-campus event for scholarly student exhibition. A total of 180 students, supported by 66 faculty sponsors, participated in this year’s event, which featured presentations on a wide variety of topics across academic disciplines.
