A 62-year-old Islip woman died after her minivan was involved in a crash with an SUV in East Islip over the weekend.
Suffolk County police said Maureen Bodkin was driving her Chevrolet Astro eastbound on Union Boulevard when the minivan was hit by a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee at the corner of Harwood Avenue at 11:55 a.m. Saturday.
The minivan, which overturned several times, then hit a Chevrolet Prism at the corner, police said.
Bodkin was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Jeep was treated for minor injuries and the other driver was not injured.
Third Squad detectives impounded the vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-854-8352.
