Port Jefferson Station Crash Leaves Pedestrian Dead

A woman was fatally hit by a taxi cab in Port Jefferson Station over the weekend.

Suffolk County police said Gail Oses was walking on Route 112 when she was struck by a southbound Crown Victoria operated by Lindy’s Taxi at 3:05 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where she was pronounced dead. The driver and his two passengers were not injured.

Sixth Squad detectives impounded the vehicle and are continuing the investigation.
