As The Three-Day Weekend Rolls Around

A time for silent reflection should be found. I would like to take a moment of your time, if I may, and discuss the importance of Memorial Day.
About politics it is not. For when it comes to protecting us, they are the best we have got.
They are a very special breed and one we certainly need.
Most choose to do it, they have
not a regret which is why we must never forget.
Many of us have lost a family member or a close friend,
Slowly our hearts have started to mend.
The names are too many to mention, but Sgt. James Regan comes to mind.
They were all special, he was one of a kind.
If he had a choice, I am sure he would do it all over again, for his commitment, courage and character made him a near perfect 10.
Although it will never be the same,
Within us their memories will always remain.
They were all different, but they fought as a unified team, so we would all have the chance to pursue the American dream.
Many great men and women over the years have been lost and freedom certainly comes at a tremendous cost.
When it comes to war…Faith is a must. When there is no answer, in God we trust.
Many will clearly attest until the mission is over, they will never rest.
Along the way they have passed every test, for they are truly the best of the best.
When they are called, they never hesitate until they accomplish their goal, their determination will never abate.
With destiny many have a date, but they help America what it is. Great.
They touched our lives in so many a way, it’s hard to believe they are no longer here to stay.
For all who have served and given their life let us pray and always remember them on this date, Memorial Day.
Life goes on as it always seems to do, let’s not forget on this day to salute the red, white and blue.
