The Vincent Smith School, a Port Washington-based nonprofit independent school for children with ADHD and learning disabilities, hosted their first annual gala—Dancing under the Stars—on Saturday, April 16, at the Port Washington Yacht Club.
The event attracted over 150 people, many of whom were parents, alumni, friends and supporters of the school. The evening featured a keynote speech delivered by Patrick Kane, chairman of the board of trustees, and the master of ceremonies was Corey Stein, vice chairman, board of trustees, both of whom have children attending the Vincent Smith School. The gala featured raffles, a silent and live auction, along with a DJ and dancing.
“The school raised funds to improve technology for our students by providing iPads, Smart Boards, a Forte micro-word processor and Livescribe Smartpens. We will continue to utilize cutting-edge technology to allow students to build upon their strengths,” said Head of School John Baldi.
