At the “Bring a Friend to Rotary” lunch meeting of the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club on June 27, members of the club invited guests who wished to hear about club services and who had expressed interest in membership.
The room was filled to capacity with Rotarians and guests who learned about Rotary and were also privileged to learn about the Rotary Leadership Awards Program (RYLA), created by Rotary demonstrating its concern for youth. Two qualifying Rylarians, Crista Post and Sara McCarthy, students from Mineola High School, who attended Camp RYLA in Riverhead this past spring, spoke of the leadership and social skills they had gained through attendance at the RYLA camp. They plan to continue on to the next level within the RYLA program. Unique in its concept, RYLA is run by youth for youth. For more information about RYLA, contact RYLA Treasurer and club member Diane Marmann at 516-750-1143 or diane.marmann@gmail.com.

To reserve as a guest of the club at this meeting, contact President Susan MacDonald at 516-643-5286.
