Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum and the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) will greet the public during National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Jonathan L. Ielpi Firefighters’ Park on Grace Avenue in the Village of Great Neck Plaza.

National Night Out, held on the first Tuesday of August in New York, is an annual community-building initiative that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. The event is an opportunity to meet members of the NCPD, who will have a table set up with giveaways for various age groups including pamphlets, public-safety materials and coloring books.

At 8 p.m., as part of the Village of Great Neck Plaza’s Summer Concert Series, the band Mambo Loco will perform in a Summer’s Sizzling Salsa Beat concert.

“I am proud to promote National Night Out, which is an important event that helps to strengthen the bonds between the Nassau County Police Department and the members of the public who they proudly serve,” said Birnbaum.
