Congratulations to seven Farmingdale High School seniors who were presented with annual monetary awards by the Women’s Club of Farmingdale (WCF). The WCF’s awards and donations totaled over $4,400. At the Farmingdale High School Senior Awards Night, WCF Co-Presidents Rosemary Emigholz and Anna Ievolo and Scholastic Awards Chairman Ann Ciuffo, bestowed two prestigious $1,000 awards: the Abigail E. Leonard Award to Ariela Deleon and the Women’s Club of Farmingdale Award to Emily Dunlop. Other awards presented in the amount of $300 each were: the Joseph P. Connelly Award to Diana Wilson; Culinary Arts Award to Alejandra Agudelo; two Women’s Club of Farmingdale Book Awards to Vincent Calderon and Jasmine Singh; and the Women’s Club of Farmingdale Art Award to Veronica Sack.

Congratulations are also in order to the following WCF members: Hilda Carman and Loda Romanelli for 50 years of volunteer service and Florence Kaufold and Ellen Pence for 25 years of volunteer service. In addition, three members were installed in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs-NYS Order of the Rose (GFWC-NY): Nancy Giminaro, Loda Romanelli and Frances Rotondo and two members into GFWC-NY State Honor Roll: Rosemary Emigholz and Anna Ievolo. All of the above awards and honors were given in recognition of outstanding volunteer service.
In addition, the WCF made donations to local organizations and charities, including Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, District #22 Welfare Fund, Foundation for Women’s Cancer, Salvation Army, ALS Lou Gehrig Disease, and Shot at Life. And this year marked the 100th Anniversary that the Women’s Club of Farmingdale became federated with the GFWC.
