Central Islip Man Hit, Killed by Car

A 32-year-old man was fatally hit by a car in his hometown of Central Islip over the weekend.

Suffolk County police said Henry Alvarez stepped into the roadway on Suffolk Avenue when he was struck by an eastbound Toyota Scion at 4:45 a.m. Sunday.

Alvarez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured.

Third Squad detectives impounded the vehicle, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on this crash to call them at 631-854-8352.
