“Bombs in Every School in Nassau” Claim Prompts Increased Patrols, Cops Say

Nassau County police are increasing patrols at school buildings after receiving a report of a bomb threat targeting all schools countywide Monday, although authorities noted the report is both unconfirmed and “unrealistic.”

Schools and authorities will be on heightened alert for suspicious people or packages, police said in the warning announced late Sunday night.

The alert came after someone reported to investigators that they overheard a male say he “put bombs in every school in Nassau and set them to go off tomorrow,” police said.

Authorities urge anyone who sees or hears anything suspicious to call 911 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
