It is the special time of the year with special Manhasset traditions are spreading throughout the area. The annual Light The Night event in Manhasset will take place on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m.
This year, Plandome Heights will be joining the villages of Munsey Park, Flower Hill and Plandome in this fun and festive evening. Residents of each village will line the front of their properties with candle bags just after dark, illuminating their neighborhoods and celebrating this beautiful time of year.
All villages are proudly partnering with Skills Unlimited to create the candle bag kits that residents will use to participate. Skills Unlimited offers persons with disabilities the opportunity to explore and develop their full vocational potential. Proceeds from the sale of the kits will go to various philanthropic and beautification projects determined by each village’s sponsor.
Residents can purchase Light The Night kits for their village during the dates/times listed below. Each kit contains 12 easy to assemble candle bags (directions included). Kits cost $20 and $10 for each additional kit per household.
So ready your red wagons and hot chocolate, take a walk or drive in the streets aglow and mingle with your neighbors.
Rain or high wind will cause the event to be postponed. The rain date is set for the following Sunday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. If necessary, the second rain date is Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. Don’t leave your street in the dark—Light The Night!
