As part of their study on communities, second-graders in Donna Crowley’s class at Fairfield Elementary School in the Massapequa School District learned about Native American homes. After doing their research, students used materials around their own homes to build their models. The project gave them a deeper understanding of how the Native Americans used the resources around them to create shelter.
