East Northport Man Killed in Crash

A 22-year-old East Northport man died after he crashed his SUV on the Northern State Parkway in South Huntington over the weekend.

New York State police said Thomas Hardy was driving a Jeep Cherokee eastbound when he lost control of the truck, struck a guardrail in the center median, causing the SUV to flip and hit a tree eastbound east of exit 41 at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The victim and his passenger were taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The passenger was treated for his injuries and is in stable condition.

State police investigators ask anyone who witnessed the crash to call them at 631-756-3300.
