Dix Hills Man Charged With Fatal DWI Crash

A Dix Hills man was arrested for driving drunk and high on drugs after he caused a crash that killed one of his passengers in Wyandanch on Friday, Suffolk County police said.

Rosaly Agosto was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound on Lake Avenue when he lost control of the SUV, which overturned while he was turning right onto Brook Avenue at 12:50 a.m., police said.

A backseat passenger, 46-year-old Solomon Maithya of Wyandanch, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. The front seat passenger, 29-year-old Miguelina Rodriguez of Dix Hills, was treated at the scene. Agosto was not injured.

Major Case Unit detectives charged Agosto with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol. He is scheduled for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
