A 41-year-old man was found dead in his Patchogue home on Sunday evening, Suffolk County police said.

A friend who came to visit Daniel Gaber at 6:30 p.m. discovered him dead inside his upstairs apartment where he lived alone on Jayne Avenue, police said. The friend called 911. Gaber was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the incident to call them at 631-852-6392, or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
