3 Nabbed for Brentwood Armed Home Invasion

Three men from Philadelphia were arrested for allegedly committing one of two armed home invasions on eastern Long Island last week, authorities said.

Suffolk County police said 27-year-old Luis Riveracolon, 31-year-old Jose Riveracolon and 37-year-old Rafaelito Rodriguez broke into a home on Grand Boulevard in Brentwood at 12:30 a.m. on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14. They allegedly flashed a knife and gun before they stole money and jewelry but were arrested later the same day.

All three were charged with first-degree burglary and child endangerment. Rafaelito was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm. A judge order they be held without bail and they’re due back in court Thursday.

In a separate case, two men armed with guns entered a home on Brookville Avenue in Islip, struck a victim inside and stole a cell phone and keys before they fled the scene at 4 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, police said. There were neither any arrests nor description of the suspects in that case.

Detectives are continuing the investigations.
