Auto Collision Results In 14-Year-Old’s Death

Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a fatal auto accident that occurred on Wednesday, June 14, at 6:16 p.m. in Farmingdale.

According to detectives, while operating a 2017 Honda Odyssey and attempting to make a left turn onto southbound Main Street from westbound Fulton Street, the driver, a 45-year old-male and his front seat passenger, a 14-year-old female, were struck by an eastbound 2014 Jeep Wrangler being operated by a 54-year-old male. The collision caused the Honda to spin around and strike two other vehicles that were stopped at the traffic light on Main Street south of Fulton Street. As a result of the collisions the 14-year-old suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by a staff physician.

Three other injured, including the driver of the Honda, the driver of the Jeep and an occupant from the stopped vehicle at the traffic light, were all transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation into this non-criminal accident continues and the identity of the 14-year-old victim is not being released at this time.
