Roslyn’s St. Francis Hospital is the fifth-best hospital in New York State, according to the latest ranking by U.S. News & World Report, followed by NYU Winthrop Hospital at No. 6.
U.S. News ranks hospitals on a number of measures, including patient survival and readmission rates, and patient experience and safety, among other categories. It’s newest rankings were announced Tuesday.
North Shore University Hospital and Stony Brook University Hospital were tied with Albany Medical Center for 13th in the state rankings, followed by Long Island Jewish at 16, Huntington Hospital at 17 and South Nassau Communities Hospital at 18.
New York Presbyterian, Mount Sinai and NYU Langone were the state’s three best local hospitals, according to U.S. News.
Nationally, the list was topped by the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins.
