In the 5-kilometer run, a total of 416 finishers traversed a unique combination of paved paths and tree-lined trails through the woodlands and Long Island Sound vistas of the preserve, passing the landmark Gould’s Castle on the way. About 50 people opted to do the 3/4-mile fun walk, which offered those not up to the 5K distance a taste of the preserve.

The beneficiary of the sprint was ACDS, which serves children and adults with Down syndrome, autism and other disabilities, and many of the youngsters in the ACDS program participated in either the 5K or the fun walk.
