In the age of virtual concerts and limited audiences, Asbury Shorts USA and Westbury Arts orchestrated a night of fantastic entertainment under the stars and in viewers’ cars.
This drive-in event was held live on Friday, September 11 in the municipal parking lot on Madison Street in Westbury, across the street from the Village Hall and behind Rite Aid. The 9th Annual Westbury Short Film Concert presented by Asbury Shorts brought to Westbury a touring exhibition of award-winning short films specially selected from major US & International film festivals.
Asbury Shorts provides audiences the opportunity to view world-class films on a big screen rather than YouTube or smart phones. The highly entertaining program features the best in comedy, drama and outstanding animation. The audience enjoyed movies from the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and the United States that have earned awards at the Aspen Shorts Fest, Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival, Nassau Film Festival, Fabriano Festival and more.
Asbury Shorts was founded in 1981 on Asbury Avenue in Westbury. Since 1999, The Asbury Short Film Concert has been presented at: The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Vero Beach Museum of Art in Florida, Summer Stage in Central Park, The Director’s Guild Theater in Manhattan, The AERO Theatre in Santa Monica, Calif., Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, Royal Festival Hall in London, U.K. and the Leminske Theater in Berlin, Germany and more.
