James Mallios, managing partner for Civetta Hospitality, is an entrepreneur and restaurateur who owns a number of local restaurants around New York City and Long Island.

Mallios operates Amali (UES), Calissa (Water Mill), Bar Marseille (Rockaways), and Juniper at the Vanderbilt (Nassau County). Civetta’s restaurants have received awards and critical acclaim from President Barack Obama, The Ford Foundation, and the City of New York for their commitment to community, philanthropy, and sustainable business practices.

Mallios talks with Josh Schneps, CEO of Schneps Media, the parent company of Long Island Press, about how he transformed his career from a lawyer to an entrepreneur in the restaurant business, his new Broadway themed events in the Hamptons, and about his newest openings in Rockaway, Queens amidst the Covid pandemic.
