Barney
Barney

**Senior Alert** Barney is a handsome 10-to-12-year-old Dachshund Mix who was found homeless and never claimed. He loves being around people, going for walks, and getting treats! Barney is friendly and loyal with an energetic spirit. Barney seems to have slight hearing and sight impairments and arthritic hips, so any potential owners should be mindful of these hurdles. Barney would do well in a home with quiet dogs his size and without young children.

If you are interested in meeting Barney, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in a domestic setting, which includes the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail.

Additional Foster Opportunity: If you have no other pets or young children at home, and are looking for a way to serve your community, please consider signing up to be a foster. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens, and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for extended periods of time.

For more information about meeting Barney or fostering, please call 631-360-7575.

Available for adoption at the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter

Zeus

Zeus is a happy-go-lucky, 6-year-old fella who enjoys short walks, playtime, treats and plain ole attention. He would flourish in an experienced home with no other pets and older kids. Zeus is content with hanging inside or outside and would need a very secure fence outside. Zeus can get overstimulated when seeing other dominant or intense dogs and would need continuous structure to be safely handled in these situations. A dog savvy home that would provide structure and continued training would be a dream come true for our Zeus.

For more information about adopting Zeus, please contact the shelter at 631-643-9270.

Available for adoption through PAWS, Pioneers for Animals Welfare Society, Inc.

Baxter and Ollie
Baxter and Ollie

**Double Adoption and Senior Alert** Meet Baxter and Ollie. These 14-year-old, bonded brothers are looking for a home to live out their twilight years. Sadly, their mom, a long-term volunteer and avid cat rescuer her entire life, passed away recently leaving her babies bereft and in need of a new home. Both are very sweet and affectionate, although Ollie is a little shy at first. They love to be brushed and are up to date on all their medicals…aka ready to head home with you today!

Bianca
Bianca

Bianca is a seriously adorable female American Bulldog, about 4-years-old and weighs roughly 65 lbs. She is a sweetheart with her people and really likes her toys. She gets along well with kids, other dogs and even cats (can’t ask for more!). She is spayed and is healthy as can be!

Nellie
Nellie

Nellie is described as the cutest, most affectionate dog ever by her current mom. She adopted Nellie months ago but suffered a bad accident making it physically impossible for her to keep Nellie. It’s breaking her mom’s heart because Nellie is such a great dog. She is a little over 1-year-old, spayed and weighs about 30 lbs. She came up here from a near-death experience in a Texas kill shelter. She has been through a lot in her short life. Nellie would do best as an only dog, although she seems to be okay with dogs outside. Nellie needs a fenced in backyard. She is trained on wee wee pads but needs some help to be fully house trained. She is a fast learner and wants to please.

Salem
Salem

**Senior Alert** This handsome 11-year-old black beauty is Salem. His owner has to move, and sadly the new place does not accept cats, so Salem needs a new forever home.  Salem has a quiet and delicate personality and quite honestly the purrfect name to match his handsome black fur!

If you are interested in being the new forever home to any of these animals in need, please  contact adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306 4616.

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America

Quixote and Sancho
Quixote and Sancho

**Double Adoption and Special Request** When six-year-olds Quixote (Adoption #BF1603) and Sancho’s (Adoption #BF1604) beloved owner became very ill, NSALA warmly welcomed them back for an opportunity to make a fresh start. Sancho depends on his brother for love and support, but it’s Quixote who has special needs. Quixote is deaf and blind; he feels his way through his heart, one very open to ear rubs and tender moments shared with trusted humans. These guys are seeking a quiet, loving home with people interested in offering these very bonded brothers a safe place to start anew. Want to be part of Quixote and Sancho’s journey?

Sawyer and Sash
Sawyer and Sash

**Double Adoption**Through thick or thin, one-year-olds Sawyer (Adoption #NCR5864) and Sash (Adoption #NCR5861) will always be together. This shy sibling pair has been reassuring each other their whole lives. A quiet, predictable household with adults experienced in soothing fearful cats (any children over 16, please) committed to providing them with a consistent, peaceful environment will lead to a happiness Sawyer and Sash have never know before. While Sawyer will need to watch his braver sister to feel secure, Sash will be quicker to accept your devotion. Treats are a great way to begin a trusting journey.

Lilly Allen
Lilly Allen

Lilly Allen (Adoption #H210318) makes everyone smile! That’s because NSALA knows how much she’s already survived, and although her past trauma makes her hesitant at first, her triumphant spirit overcomes her fears with the offering of an ear rub or treat. NSALA vets tended to an injured leg when she first arrived but now, she’s fully recovered and one-year-old Lilly is seeking a quiet home with a committed family who’ll always keep her safe and surround her with love. She’s learning to trust through watching her feline friends so a house with a cat willing to be her sidekick would complete her rescue story. Children ages 10 and above will enjoy watching this sweet mini-house panther learn to trust them, too. With a little help from her new friends, Lilly Allen will be smiling in no time, as will her family!

Nacho
Nacho

In just a short time, one-year-old Nacho (Adoption #BF3797) has endured a lot of changes, but the next change is the one worth waiting for. This bashful boy needs someone with gentle hands and some experience coaxing shy cats to trust the humans who love them. Offering him treats is how you open his heart to the possibility that you may be the one for him. Children over age 10 are going to learn a lot about caring for someone who didn’t know he needed to be loved. As timid as he can be with new situations, he seems to gain confidence by being with quiet feline friends. If you’ve got someone at home who’d love a buddy to lean on, Nacho would delight in the opportunity. Want to be Nacho’s hero? Make him part of your family today!

Zion
Zion

When one-year-old Zion (Adoption #H210202) burst onto the scene, NSALA realized very quickly he’d need a specific kind of a human to keep up with him. His zest for life is unparalleled! Few kittens can keep up with this level of excitement. Zion is looking for an adult-only setting with adopters who have experience with energetic feline friends, and enthusiasm for a perpetually playful housemate. Cats in your home would also have to be as enthusiastic about wrestling and discovery as Zion is. Zion’s zeal for finding adventure in the ordinary parts of life is infectious. Favorite pastimes include playing in sinks and stealing toys when no one is looking. This spunky young guy keeps everyone highly entertained! Zion is just the blast of energy you’ve been missing from your home, and he’s ready to take you with him as he discovered new adventures (right in your very own living room!)

Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great

NSALA’s medical team are card-carrying members of the Alexander (Adoption #H210286) fan club! This precious two-year-old boy survived some difficult days, but better ones are ahead for him now that he’s received such great veterinary care for his heart conditions and a wound he’d endured before he arrived at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. Alexander takes his meds in a meatball—how simple is that?! With a plan in place to optimize his health, and the support of Pet Health Centers in Port Washington, nothing is standing in his way from a long, healthy, happy life ahead with a loving family. He may seem a tad shy at first, but he’s merely reserving his affection for the right ear rubber. Ideally, he should find a peaceful, permanent spot in a home, (any children over age six, please.) Everyone thinks Alexander the Great is awesome—and you will too!

Teddy and Gatsby
Teddy and Gatsby

**Double Adoption** NSALA didn’t realize Teddy (Adoption #NCI2598) and Gatsby (Adoption #NCI2602) were bonded brothers until they happened to place them in a sunny room together and watched them reconnect in a loving embrace. They’re making sure these sweet one-year-old tuxedo boys are always together furever. Cuddling is their favorite activity! The once fearful cats are now feeling quite brave as they search for a family to spoil them. Want to be included in this bromance, call NSALA today!

If you’d like to meet or adopt any one of these adorable adoptables, please email DoritS@animalleague.org for more information or come down for a visit at their Port Washington campus.

Bean
Bean

Bean is a handsome 1.5-year-old boy with the prettiest amber eyes. He is quiet when meeting new people but once he warms up, he will follow you everywhere you go looking for snacks or some pets! He loves to greet you when you come into the room and mealtime is his absolute favorite! Bean isn’t a lap cat but will sit right on the couch with you. He loves to play with the younger kittens in his foster home and you can always find him rolling around in the shower, bird watching at the window or taking a long nap when he’s not by your side. Bean would do best with an experienced cat owner and a quiet home since he gets stimulated easily and mouthy.

Maddie
Maddie

Maddie is an affectionate 5-year-old tabbico who likes to be held and has a very outgoing personality. Maddie is a very mellow but curious girl. She has lived among other cats and is nervous but adjusting to living with a dog in her current foster home. She has also done excellent with children 10+ years old. Her favorites are treats and wand toys!
