Animals Buddy

*Senior Alert* Buddy is a delightful twelve year-old Beagle Mix who has sadly been adopted and returned twice in his life. Now it’s time for Buddy to find the perfect furrever home that will give him the adoration and love that he has been missing all this time. He is gentle, outgoing, loves all people and is pretty low key. Buddy will bark and follow you around when he wants some attention and he enjoys snuggling up with a toy. He will need a home that can help manage his chronic ear issues and can keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t wander off. Buddy is great with dogs, cats, and children, and would be a wonderful addition to any family.

If you can make Buddy your best bud, please fill out an application https://www.townofsmithtownanimalshelter.com/applications or call the shelter at 631-360-7575 for more information.

Aniimals Oneonta

*Double Adoption and Senior Alert* Super senior Oneonta is a nine-year-old former stray. She has depended on her lifelong friend, eleven-year-old Mohawk, to feel safe. So, Animal League America assured them that they would spend the rest of their lives together as a bonded pair. These best friends are looking for experienced adults who can help their confidence grow while making them feel comfortable in their first home. Be their hero; come adopt Oneonta & Mohawk!

Adoption Mercury

*Double Adoption* Are you ready to blast off into Mercury and Mars’ world?!  These two-year-old local rescues are a bonded pair and are ready to explore the universe, AKA your home! They were a bit timid at first, but our loving team got their stars to shine with trust and treats. An experienced home with older children will help them make a comfortable landing while adjusting to their new humble abode.

Animals Lefkada

Three-year-old Lefkada is still adjusting to her new situation and takes a while to warm up to people. Give her time and space, and she’ll be bellying up, purring for you. This luxurious lady loves attention and looks forward to living in her first home with an experienced owner and older children.

Animals Rhodes

Bonded one-year-olds Rhodes and Delphi were locally rescued and brought to Animal League America when they were kittens. This bonded pair needed some tendering loving care and time in a quiet sunny room showed them how wonderful it would be to live in a home. A home with adults with experience nurturing fearful kittens and older children who can offer them a consistent environment is all they ask for.

Adoption Chanel

*Double Adoption* Chanel and Dior are a bonded pair of one-year-olds and ready to strut the catwalk straight into your hearts. While Dior is already flouncing his way to the hearts of every visitor, Delphi takes a more dignified approach in meeting new people. An experienced household with older children will lead to a fashionable future.

Adoption Zuke

You’re going to have zoodles of fun with Zuke! This outstanding two-year-old tuxedo loves to play but loves ear rubs even more. He’d like to be the only pet in your home, but his delightful purrsonality and playful spirit are more than enough to keep you company furever!

Aniimals Q-Tip

Seven-year-old Q-tip had to fend for himself outdoors for his entire life, making friends with local cats and staying out of trouble. When he was suddenly hit by a car near Port Washington, one of Animal League America’s staff rushed him to their Pet Health Centers to save his life. After recovering, they thought it best that he goes home to a loving family. With lots of ear rubs and treats, Q-tip will show you how much he appreciates the new beginning he’s been given.

Adoption Adam

Adam is such a handsome 4-year-old boy. He is the best of both worlds. Adam enjoys playtime with string toys and really just loves human affection. He is loving, sweet and an easygoing kitty. He can be found curled up on your lap and has this cute way of shaking his tail when he’s happy.

Who leaves such a good boy to fend for himself? Domino is a very mellow 5-year-old feline who enjoys lounging up on the fosters cat tree and gets along well with the other cats in the home. He is known to talk to you as you enter the room and will rub up against you for petting while purring. Domino will do well in a loving home.

Available for adoption at Lend-a-Paw Inc.

Adoption Ivory

Ivory stands as a magnificent example of beauty, loyalty, and affection. Recently saved from the euthanasia list, this lady would do best in a home with another playful dog who can guide her along the way. While she adores children, she isn’t fully aware of her own size, so a household with kids aged 13 and older would be best. Ivory is crate trained as she experiences anxiety when new people enter her space, requiring a patient owner who can facilitate gradual introductions. She is a fast learner who will make a great family dog!

Adoption Apollo

Also pulled from the euthanasia list, Apollo is seeking a foster home that can provide transportation to veterinary appointments for his potential neurological condition. Apollo is presently accustomed to using wee-wee pads and can either be the only dog in the household or be placed with an experienced foster family that can carefully manage gradual introductions with other pets. At approximately 1.5 to 2 years old, Apollo is overflowing with affection, and he thoroughly enjoys his playtime adventures in the foster backyard.

Animals Rue

Rue is a young pup, recently rescued from Louisiana. He is super sweet and loving and loves to run around and play. He is good with other dogs and would do best in a home where he can run around and play- and must have a fenced in backyard.

Adoptiion MooMoo

Six-year-old MooMoo was rescued last year after her owner passed away. She was heartbroken, hissing and scratching and so just so sad.  Fortunately, Lend-a-Paw was able to socialize her with other cats and she has made so much progress. She is no longer swatting at volunteers and allows them to get relatively close to her without running away. MooMoo is looking for a foster who can work with and socialize her.

Adoption Brie

Baby Brie has so much spunk and personality! Recently trapped and rescued, Brie and her siblings are currently FeLV positive but that won’t stop her. FeLV positive cats can live very long, healthy lives. Rescuers even say they may be sweeter than the average kitty. So why not open your heart and home to Brie today?!

Adoption Pablo

Five-year-old Pablo is one hunk of a man! He is very loving and affectionate as well as independent. He loves getting his treats and daily pets as well as socializing with the other cats.
