New Board of Directors For The Peruvian Chamber of Commerce Long Island Alliance Sworn In

On April 10, 2024, Ed Romaine, Suffolk County Executive, performed the oath ceremony of the Peruvian Chamber of Commerce Long Island Alliance President Shermelee Carrasco and her board of directors. Also present in the room were, Suffolk County legislators Sammy Gonzales and Rebeca Sanin, Assembly member Keith Brown and Herbert Flores from the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs.

Multiple chambers of commerce attended the event, such as the Long Island Hispanic, Nassau Council, Ecuadorian, Honduran, Salvadorian Chambers of commerce. A special guest traveled from Peru, Lidia Cortes, one of the 50 most influential women in Peru according to Forbes magazine.

The purpose of the chamber is to encourage community engagement between the Peruvian community within Long Island.
