The Interact Club at South High School organized a delivery of more than 500 Valentine’s Day cards to the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park.

South High students and staff signed the cards with holiday-themed messages and drawings, as well as a poster to hang in the facility’s common room for residents to read.

The Club’s initiative ensured that every resident at the facility received a kind, heartfelt message on Valentine’s Day.

The Interact Club is the high school branch of Rotary International. The South High Interact Club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gold Coast-Lake Success and led by faculty advisor John Motchkavitz, business and technology department head.

Rotary representative Fran Gordon hand-delivered South High’s Valentine’s Day messages to Mary Kate Tusinski, director of recreational therapy and life enrichment at the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, on Feb. 12.
