Safavieh Home Furnishings, a leader in home décor best known for its world-renowned rugs, is making a donation to Habitat for Humanity of Long Island ReStore. The contribution includes two full truckloads of high-quality furniture valued at thousands of dollars.
The donation features 10 dining tables, 10 end tables, 10 consoles, 50 chairs and 25 stools — items that will be available for purchase at the Habitat ReStore in Ronkonkoma. Proceeds from the sales directly support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build and renovate safe, affordable homes for hardworking Long Island families.
“We are happy to support Long Islanders in need and donated so much furniture that it filled two trucks,” said Michael Yaraghi CEO of Safavieh’s retail division.
The Long Island ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center offering new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, home décor and more. Sales from the ReStore generate critical funding to support the construction and renovation of affordable homes for deserving families across Long Island.
For four generations, the family behind the Safavieh brand has transformed a small artisan rug business into a high-tech, omni-channel corporation with advanced manufacturing and distribution operations.
The company has grown from a single Madison Avenue showroom to 13 retail stores, with 2 million square feet of warehouse space and manufacturing facilities on three continents.
