Long Island's groundhogs agree!

For the second Groundhog Day in a row, Long Island’s two weather-forecasting rodents disagreed over whether spring-like conditions will come early in 2018 or the current cold winter blast will persist.

Long Island groundhogs Holtsville Hal and Malverne Mel disagreed on Groundhog Day Thursday morning for the first time in five years over whether there'll be a long winter or an early spring.

Long Island's two groundhogs were agreed with Punxsutawney Phil, the most famous groundhog of all, who all did not see their shadows, effectively predicting an early spring. New York City's Staten Island Chuck and Connecticut’s Chuckles also were in agreement. New Jersey's two groundhogs disagreed.
