Hempstead Rape Suspect Sought by Police

Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted for allegedly raping a woman in Hempstead two weeks ago.

Special Victims Squad detectives issued a wanted poster on June 10 for Bayron Maldonado, who investigators alleged was “unlawfully present in an apartment” on Jerusalem Avenue when he allegedly raped and sodomized a female victim at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.

Maldonado is described as 5-feet, 4-inches tall, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to drive a 2004 Ford, Econoline Van, with New York license plate No. GXC-5792.

His current whereabouts are unknown. Authorities said that the suspect should be considered dangerous.
