Gazebo Concerts Set to Start on June 11th

The Gazebo Concert schedule is starting to fill up. We have our opening Flag Day BBQ and concert on Thursday June 11th.

“South Shore Brass” will be providing the entertainment and a BBQ free of charge is offered for our Seniors. All concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. King Kullen will again be donating the food for our BBQ and we have received a generous donation from the DeFranco’s of IHOP to provide soda and water at our BBQ. Thank you to IHOP and remember to patronize our local businesses.

Other dates already booked include June 18th with Gene Benedetto, June 25th with Ralph Varrone and July 9th with Phil Amarante Jazz and August 6th with MAS Jazz Trio. Hope you all can attend these concerts and enjoy some great music.

Due to the rain, our clean- up day was postponed until Saturday, May 30. It will be at 9 a.m. and we will meet here at Village Hall. T- shirts, gloves and garbage bags will be provided, courtesy of Councilman Angelo Ferrara. Thank you to all of those who braved the rain last week and we invite you to return on the 30th.

I would also like to remind residents that with the warm weather beginning, it is even more important to remember some village regulations concerning dog waste and garbage collections. Please pick up after your dog and dispose of the waste properly. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE SEWERS. Refer to your garbage schedules for holidays and pick up days. Garbage left too early or for a day or two attracts animals and bugs and is unsightly for our neighbors.

Pool sign-up began at Village Hall this week through May 30. There is a $40 late fee charged for any application received after May 31. There is no increase to the membership this year. Applications are also accepted by mail. Beginning on June 1st sign up will continue at the pool.

Our DPW is busy opening the pool and preparing for another great season. All applications and information are available online. Applications are also available at Village Hall. We will not be mailing any applications this year and no one will receive passes until opening day.

The Roger Fay Williston Park Pool opens June 20 at 10 a.m. The pool is open to all residents that day. The “SUNWISE” Melanoma Awareness Foundation sponsored by the Kiwanis will be at the pool opening day with suntan lotion and information for all concerning sun safety. The Pool calendar is filled with great family activities.

The next public meeting for the Williston Park Village Board of Trustees will be held on June 15th at 8 p.m. The Village website is: www.villageofwillistonpark.org. See you around Town!
