Congratulations to the Pirates of OBB for winning the Championship Game 2-0 vs. the Dodgers in a ‘nail-biter’ and capturing the Championship Trophy for 2009. This capped off a tremendous season for the Pirates who also took first place for the Majors division with a record of 12-2.
The Pirates beat the Indians 2-1 and the Reds 6-5 en route to the Championship Game.
Each of the Pirates players contributed to a great season with great pitching, good defense, timely hitting and smart base running – fundamentally sound baseball played by everyone on the team. The Pirates ‘gelled’ all season long and also had a lot of fun playing the greatest game on earth – baseball!
