Nicole Bielawski, who graduated last month from Friends Academy in Locust Valley, will represent the United States in the International Rowing Association World Rowing Junior Championships on Aug. 5-8 in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France. Ms. Bielawski, who competes in the single sculls event, earned the honor by winning the recent U.S. Junior World Championships Trials on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, NJ.
She is undefeated over the past year, and has won gold medals in such prestigious regattas as the Head of the Charles in Boston in the fall of 2008 and the Long Island Scholastic Rowing Championships, held in Bayville this past spring. Ms. Bielawski will row for Princeton University.
