Gift Basket Bingo

The Levittown Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is hosting Fundraiser/Gift Basket Bingo at 7 p.m. at Levittown Hall, Levittown Pky., Hicksville. 50/50 and raffle will also be held. For tickets and further information call 520-9822.

Catholic Daughters Dinner

Catholic Daughters of the Americas #869 Annual Dinner and spectacular entertainment, featuring vocalists, dancers and comediennes will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola School, Msgr. Tarrant Hall, 30 E Cherry St. Presented by the “The Seasoned Steppers”; choreographed by a former Radio City Rockette. Doors open at 6 p.m. with happy one half hour; bring your own drinks. Full sit down dinner and show are only $20, reservations required. Long Island Roller Rebels

The champion of the Long Island Roller Rebels’ 2009 roller derby season will be crowned on Oct. 24, as the Wicked Wheelers of the West battle the Mid-Island Rolling Thundercats at Skate Safe America, 182 Bethpage Sweet Hollow Rd., Old Bethpage. (249-1717). Doors open at 7 p.m.; the whistle blows at 8 p.m. Tickets $10 in advance; $15 at the door; children under 8 free.

LI Coalition for Life

What Does it Mean to be Pro-Life? This will be the topic when Dolores Edwards, teacher from Roosevelt High School, speaks at 7:45 p.m. prior to the general meeting of the LI Coalition for Life. The meeting will be held at the Joseph Barry K of C Council Hall, 45 Heitz Pl. Light refreshments upon arrival. Call 631-243-1435.

Bereavement Program

The Bereavement Ministry of St. Ignatius Loyola, 129 Broadway, will present Lorraine Fitzgerald, CSW (bereavement coordinator , LIJ/North Shore) speaking on “Getting Through the Holidays” followed by an open question and answer discussion. Members of the community who have lost a loved one, family or friend, are invited to attend. 7 p.m. in Room B in the basement of the old school. Preregistration not required, but it is suggested that you contact Joan Healey 938-5159 or Anne Murphy 931-6784 to estimate the number attending. Free admission.

Hicksville Baseball, Softball Registration

Open registration for the 2010 season of Hicksville baseball/softball will take place at 7 p.m. at Hicksville William P. Bennett Community Center. Registration can be accessed online at HicksvilleBaseball.com. Registration will also take on Nov. 11.

All Hallows’ Celebration

The St. Anne Mother’s Prayer Group invites children of all ages and their families to the 3rd annual All Hallows’ Celebration. Come dressed as your favorite saint. Learn about the history of Halloween and All Soul’s Day while playing games, making crafts, hearing stories and getting treats. March in a parade of saints. Pizza will be available for a donation of $2 per slice (includes one drink). 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Loyola School cafeteria, E. Halloween Party

The Hicksville Boys & Girls Club will host its annual Children’s Halloween Party at St. Stephen’s Church, 270 South Broadway. The event will feature a costume contest, music, games, food and fun for all. Registration is limited to children in kindergarten through fifth grade and parents can pick up or call 822-KIDS for a permission slip. Registration will run through Oct. 26.
