New Hyde Park and Floral Park Kiwanis Clubs Merge

On Oct. 1, the Kiwanis clubs of New Hyde Park and Floral Park merged to become one club. The club has voted in new board members: President, Peter Ferello; Vice President, Lucille Guardala; Secretary, Donna Jaronczyk; Admin. Account Treasurer, Ben Cirlincione; and Public Relations coordinator, Chrissy Oliva. A new meeting schedule was also decided, and new and exciting committees were formed. Going forward, the club will meet at Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse located at 2349 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park on the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. and at Koenig’s Restaurant located at 86 South Tyson Avenue, Floral Park on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. The club is always looking for new members, and if you would like to see what the club is all about, feel free to stop by at the next meeting.

The club recently contributed four $25 gift cards to Cub Scout Pack # 489 and collected food for the New Hyde Park Key Club and their respective Thanksgiving food drives. The club will also be sponsoring two youth groups; the New Hyde Park and Floral Park Key Clubs who will be collecting food, gift cards, clothes and toys for the holiday season for 26 families through the Adopt-A-Family program. The schools themselves will also be participating through each department’s sponsorship of a family provided by the Nassau County Department of Social Services. The club is asking for any donation, large or small, which can be mailed to P.O. Box 917, New Hyde Park, NY 11040. Donations can also be dropped off at the club’s next meeting or you can call 779-6164 to arrange a pick-up with a Kiwanis member. The last day to donate is Dec. 21.
