Both the JV and Varsity Lady Generals Basketball teams competed in the Syosset Invitational Tournaments and came out champions recently.
The JV team was led by freshmen Jenna Cozza, who was the recipient of the All-Around Athlete Award. Each girl worked extremely hard to contribute to the wins against Syosset and Plainview.
The varsity team also had a small winning streak, defeating both Plainview and Bellmore JFK. Nicole Crew received tournament MVP while Liz Alagna was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Both captains did an outstanding job and both awards were well deserved. Candice Noakes, who scored 22 points during the two games, made offensive contributions. Amanda Herold and Jessica Gattus. Chrissy Page, Katie McNamara and Emily Powell all did a fantastic job rebounding while Amy Cesario and Jaclyn Rini played well on defense.
