Driving in the Safe Lane Program
The 90-minute lecture program will be held at Holy Trinity High School, 98 Cherry Ln., Hicksville, at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. The program brings together law enforcement, the medical community, the business community and the parent of a teen driver who was killed in a car crash. The program educates and raises awareness of the issue for parents, new and prospective teen drivers about safety measures, New York State driving laws, and parental responsibilities and liabilities.

LI Crisis Center Seeks Volunteers
LI Crisis Center, the oldest 24-hour, seven-day-a-week crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline, is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Volunteer Counselor Training Program. Those interested in becoming a volunteer telephone crisis intervention counselor with LICC must first call 826-0244 to schedule an interview. No experience is necessary to volunteer and the hours are flexible to fit the individual needs of volunteers. All counselors must begin with orientation training. The free comprehensive orientation training program takes place over three evenings in LICC’s office in Bellmore. LICC’s next training sessions will be held March 4, 11 and 18 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Play Golf with Len Berman
Ever dream of playing a sport with a celebrity? Make that dream a reality by attending Mill Neck Family’s fourth annual Spring Swing Invitational Golf Tournament, to be held at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset on May 24. HUMC Food Pantry Open
Hunger is a real issue facing our local area. In response to this need, the Hicksville United Methodist Church, 130 Old Country Rd., opened a food pantry. Job Referral Service
Attention managers, store owners, private businesses: YES Community Center has a job referral service that helps businesses fill their job vacancies with pre-screened, motivate young people. The employment program consists of approximately 150 youth every year in their efforts to secure employment within the community. All participants go through an initial screening process to determine their employability and job readiness. They are offered information and assistance with any job-related issue such as job search skills, interview preparation and resume writing, career guidance and planning. YES provides a listing of current job openings within the area and helps match the needs of the employer with those of the young people. Exhibit of Early Levittown Memorabilia

Is a non-profit organization run by moms for moms. A safe, non- judgmental place for mothers to share ideas, exchange information and make new friends. Walls of Honor
Need a gift for your favorite veteran? The NC Veterans Memorial Fund Inc., a nonprofit organization (not affiliated with Nassau County or any government agency) offers all veterans throughout the US a place on the “Walls of Honor.” These walls are located at Veterans Plaza, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow. It is for those living and deceased who served our county during war and peacetime. Space is available for those interested in including their name or that of a loved one. Proof of military service and a contribution of $100 per name is required. A 50 word or less military biography on each person on the wall will be housed in the veterans tower if requested.
