More Than 600 People Attend Levittown’s Annual Gathering
Families turned out in large numbers to take part in the Levittown Community Council’s Ninth Annual WinterFest on February 13. More than 600 people attended the event held for the first time at Levittown Hall.
“The event was supported by a large group of volunteers, who gave lots of time to planning and staffing the event, and to community businesses which provided donations of cash and prizes,” says Louise Cassano, chairperson of the event. Volunteers included LCC board members, Council members, Key Clubbers from MacArthur High School and Division Avenue High School and several Circle K members.
Among the volunteers were: Alex Aragon, Nicole Aramini, Jasmine Blennau, Pete Calabrese, Matthew Conlon, Stephanie Dittrich, Meghan Doherty, David Faldetto, Barbara and Gary Fisch, Thomas Franz, Anthony Galli, Erica Geiger, Becky Hopkins, Lizzie Hume, Ginny Isola, Ron Kinberg, Pat McBride, Frank McKenna, Lyndsay Lamariana, Elliott Leibowitz, Kristin Leverone, Stephanie Leverone, Jackie Merk, Matthew Murray, Nicole Pappas, Don Patane, Dominick Pesce, Christina Principato, Jennifer Pulgrano, Donna and Pete Ryan, Patrick Ryan, Chris Severance, Anita Thompson, Courtney Valenti, Eleanor and Matt Walsh, Jim Ward, and Tiffany Williams.

WinterFest offers arts and crafts activities for children throughout the day, entertainment, provided this year by Nassau County P. A. L. Twirlers and Nancy’s Dance Factory, and exhibitors providing activities and entertainment or public services. This year’s exhibitors included Levittown Central Baseball, Levittown Chamber of Commerce, Levittown Community Church, Levittown Historical Society, Levittown Kiwanis, Levittown Public Library, Levittown Property Owners Association, Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers New York Life, S. A. D. D., Soldiers’ Angels, Steve the Scientist, WKJY and WLVAC (Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps)
Council President, Mauro Cassano, said, “We accomplished another successful event to bring people in the community together and introduce them to organizations in the area.”
The Levittown Community Council is an association of individuals and organizations in the areas that comprise Levittown and Island Trees school districts. Its mission is to create pride and unity in the communities it serves.
