Raymond W. Axmacher, of Bethpage, passed away April 3, 2010. Husband and best friend of 62 years to Jean. Father of Patricia Cappellino (Thomas), Eileen Racanelli (Dr. Joseph), Raymond (Kerrin), James (Lisa), Thomas (Claudia) and William Axmacher. Grandfather of Beth and Thomas Cappellino, Margherita and Luigi Racanelli, Joshua (Kami), Jeremy (Rachel) and Jonathan, Brian, Matthew and Meryl, Lindsey, Julia, Luke and Scott, Raleigh and Hannah. During WWII Raymond served as a hospital corpsman for the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Bethpage resident for 59 years, a former longtime Little League coach and was employed as a manufacturing engineer at Fairchild Camera. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held April 8 at St. Martin of Tours RC Church with interment following at Calverton National Cemetery.
