Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Walk to Find a Cure May 22

Senator Kemp Hannon (R-Garden City) walked the “Great Strides” pathway with Arlene Dayboch of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) at Hofstra University in Uniondale last winter, the same pathway where thousands of walkers will find themselves May 22.

The 22nd Annual “Great Strides” is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraiser. Co-walkers, friends and family from teams of fundraising walkers come together as one community for one cause; to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

“This walk means everything to the families,” said Arlene Dayboch, director of special events for CFF’s Greater NY Chapter, Long Island Office. “Through their fundraising, CF families have a positive way to focus their frustration and energy while spreading awareness of this devastating disease.”

Fundraising efforts are already under way as local businesses, family members and friends create teams to help raise money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

“I am urging Long Islanders to unite for this incredibly important cause,” said Senator Hannon.  “Just a small donation will go such a long way for CFF to continue its mission to help these families.”

There are six “Great Strides” walks this spring on Long Island. The walk at Hofstra University will be on May 22.  For information on how to donate or create and register a team to walk, please call the Long Island Chapter Office of CFF at 516-827-1290.
