Dear neighbors, friends and fellow taxpayers of New Hyde Park/ Garden City Park and Sewanhaka School Districts, it is with great pride and sincere appreciation that I am writing this letter to you. On May 18th, you overwhelmingly approved the fiscally responsible budgets.
There is no better way for all of us to show that we value quality education than by supporting the budgets presented. Those of you who attended our budget meetings, asked questions and voiced your opinions and concerns, thank you for taking the time and understanding the process. You also made a concerted effort to reach out to others. I applaud each and everyone who made it to the polls on Tuesday. Nothing could keep us away, the long lines…not even Mother Nature.
My visits to the polls and seeing so many of you there made me feel so very proud to be a member of this wonderful community we share. As my neighbors, friends and taxpayers, once again, please accept my sincerest appreciation for all your efforts in getting out the vote.
I knew I could count on you when it was all said and done….your unwavering support of quality education, your pride in our community, and your understanding of the importance of our schools made it all happen and for this I thank you.
