The Sons of Italy-Columbus Lodge #2143 recently held a successful golf outing at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury on June 14. This year’s honoree was Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto. A ceremonial Sandy Koufax memorabilia gift was presented to Venditto as Koufax was Venditto’s boyhood baseball idol.
Proceeds from the event will help finance various lodge philanthropic endeavors. Already, a donation was made to the CL Scholarship Program, which benefits graduating high school students who enroll in a college program in the fall and Cancer and Breast Cancer Help Inc., which helps further the advancement of detecting and curing breast cancer.
The Columbus Lodge is a not-for-profit fraternal organization and member of the Sons of Italy.
