Long Island Fury’s midfielder Lorraine Quinn was among three team members honored by the Women’s Premier Soccer League as All-Eastern Conference.
“Lorraine Quinn is one of the most exciting, skillful and talented players I have ever had the pleasure to train and coach. When you talk about a player that has the ‘wow’ factor, then you are talking about Lorraine,” said Fury Head Coach Michael Demakis. “Her foot skills and quickness on the ball will buckle any defender’s knees. She is considered a player who is worth the price of admission, just to watch her go to work on the field in a game. You never look away during a game when Lorraine has the ball because you are going to miss something special.”
Quinn is an original Fury player from Farmingdale, but she did not play in 2009 and returned to the team this year as the leading scorer from her midfield position with three goals and one assist.
Coach Demakis said, “It has been a privilege and a pleasure not only to train and coach these three Fury players but also to get to know them over the years, for they are all exceptional individuals who you would be honored to be able to call them a friend.”
